ProCirCon - Developing professional competencies for circular construction

On the basis of a ‘body of knowledge’ of sustainable building materials and processes, partners from vocational training, business and science are developing and testing action-oriented learning units, teaching and learning materials for training in the building trades, and further training for teaching and training staff.

These activities are also based on co-operation with waste management companies and educational policy decision-makers.

Accompanying dissemination activities and dialogue with stakeholders from business, science, regulatory policy and capacity building concepts ensure that the project is firmly established.

The activities for the development of EU-wide available results include

1. Creation of a Body of Knowledge catalogue

This includes the development of two action scenarios:

  • ‘Circular economy & construction site’ and
  • ‘Disposal’

as well as obtaining feedback from stakeholders and gaining supporters for the development of the ‘circular construction’ model in vocational training.

2. Development of a learning model:

  • Development of result-orientated learning units along the action scenarios
  • Development of a training course ‘Competences for circular construction in VET’ for teachers and trainers in construction professions and piloting at the participating VET institutions. The digital dimension is a cross-sectional issue.

3. Development of joint concepts for institutional anchoring and political support, in cooperation with stakeholders from education, science and business as well as from politics and administration, work with responsible regulatory authorities.

4. Accompanying dissemination activities
